Pro Bono Conferences, Summits and Regional Meetings

OneJustice is all about connections. OneJustice's pro bono conferences, summits and regional meetings are all about bringing together groups of experienced pro bono practitioners from the legal community. Participants form an informal think tank to address how pro bono can help legal services organization serve more clients.

The pro bono conferences, summits and regional meetings happen on a three-year cycle. In 2011, OneJustice convened regional meetings of stakeholders from Southern California, Northern California and the Central Valley. Pro Bono Regional Meetings: Pro Bono Regional Meetings bring together regional legal communities in Northern California, Southern California, and Central California to facilitate meaningful collaborations that support and expand regional pro bono efforts. Pro Bono Summit: OneJustice convenes a small group of pro bono stakeholders from around the state including State Bar staff, legal services providers and large law firm pro bono coordinators to undertake strategic planning on the statewide pro bono delivery system. Next year, OneJustice will convene the third Pro Bono Summit.

Pro Bono Conference: The Pro Bono Conference invites participants from all areas of the legal community for a full-day conference with trainings, resources, and discussions on topics specific to pro bono in California -- including best practices, unmet needs, and replicable projects. In 2010, a very successful Pro Bono Conference was held in Los Angeles. The next Pro Bono Conference will take place in 2013.

Pro Bono Managers Groups: OneJustice convenes pro bono coordinators from legal services organizations in Southern California and Northern California to share information and expand opportunities to connect volunteers with legal services nonprofits.

Pro Bono Resources: OneJustice knows that all lawyers can be heroes. By coordinating pro bono resources, OneJustice ensures that the safety net for low-income people is being supported by attorneys at legal services nonprofits and at law firms.
